What are beacons?
Beacons are Bluetooth radio frequency devices that transform a location into digital informational content. Their presence creates a physical connection that enables interaction with the content to be disseminated. Beacons utilize Bluetooth 4.0 (BLE) technology and can create defined geolocated zones. They have a range that spans from a few centimeters to 400 meters.
